PROJECT UPDATE
The refurbishment of the Carter Observatory building is complete and the design of the new multimedia exhibition is well underway.
We are now raising funds to refurbish the Carter Observatory's planetarium and replace the projection system with a digital full-dome system.
Our aim is to increase the size of the dome and number of seats, and improve the planetarium lighting and sound systems. In addition, a new digital projection system will allow Carter's staff to create multimedia presentations that take audiences on a jaw-dropping journey of discovery: from a Wellington twilight to the furthest reaches of the known Universe.
