Booking a School Visit to Carter Observatory

Carter’s LEOTC (Learning Experiences Outside The Classroom) supported education programme includes a show in our state of the art planetarium, access to our multimedia exhibition and galleries, and a workshop targeted to your learning objectives. Carter is ideal for students Years 1 – 12+. We also have programmes available for pre-school and tertiary students.

Booking a school visit to Carter is easy! 

1. Call or email our Education Team at (04) 910 3140, or education@carterobservatory.org to check availability. Our educational programmes are popular and do fill up quickly, so do book as soon as you can.
2. Download our online school booking form (MS Word file) and email to education@carterobservatory.org or mail to Carter Observatory, PO Box 2909, Wellington 6140
3. Once your form has been received, our Bookings Co-ordinator will contact you for the deposit payment and to confirm the details of the booking.
4. Approximately 2-3 weeks before your visit, one of our educators will be in touch to discuss specific learning objectives and discuss any special needs or requests for your visit.
